Welcome to the City of Balcones Heights, home of Wonderland of the Americas and the Crossroads Convention Center.
The Balcones Heights Justice Center is located at 3300 Hillcrest across from Jim's Coffee Shop and across the street from Wonderland of the Americas. We are eight miles north of downtown San Antonio.
The Balcones Heights Police Department is here to serve our citizens, those who utilize our accomodations and those who pass through our City.
Balcones Heights police officers are well trained in all aspects of law enforcement. All officers are required to maintain their proficiency by keeping current on new and innovative training and are encouraged to further their education. |

Chief of Police - Darrell Volz
Darrell E. Volz has been appointed as the new Chief of Police at the City of Balcones Heights in March of 2015.
Chief Volz retired in June 2014 after 35 years at the San Antonio Police Department. His career covered all areas of a modern Police Department from patrol, property crimes, homicide and other violent crimes, covert undercover operations, prison gangs, dignitary protection, and criminal intelligence
Mr. Volz has been married for 34 years and has two sons who are pursuing college degrees. He is a Texan native and has lived in the San Antonio area his entire life. |
